Anne-Sophie Pic to Helm Le Normandie at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok

June 20, 2025

Q3 is just around the corner, and with it comes a big change at one of Bangkok’s most iconic restaurants. In late Q3 2025, Le Normandie at Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok will reopen with Anne-Sophie Pic, one of the world’s top chefs, leading the way.

Le Normandie has been a pioneer since it opened in 1958, and this next chapter blends its proud history with a bold, fresh vision for modern French cuisine.

About Anne-Sophie Pic

Anne-Sophie Pic is a big name in the food world. She’s been called the Best Chef in France and holds more Michelin stars than any other female chef today. Her main restaurant in Valence, Maison Pic, has kept its three Michelin stars since 2007 and was named World’s Best Restaurant by Tripadvisor in 2024.

She’s known for her creative and emotional style of cooking, which she calls “Suffusion.” It’s all about bringing together flavours and aromas in ways that feel both surprising and comforting. Her food has a soft elegance but also a bold edge.

Le Normandie: Classic Meets Contemporary

Le Normandie has long been a destination for top French dining in Asia. It started as Le Normandie Grill in one of Thailand’s tallest towers at the time and became a true fine dining restaurant in 1969. In 2015, it was given a new look that still felt timeless, and since 2018, it has held two Michelin stars. It’s also the only French restaurant in Thailand recognised by Les Grandes Tables du Monde.

Now, it’s getting another refresh. The new design by Humbert & Poyet will keep the restaurant’s charm while bringing in a more modern feel. Expect an elegant and immersive dining experience that keeps French fine dining at the top in Bangkok.

With a legendary chef stepping into a legendary space, Le Normandie is ready to welcome a new generation of diners. Whether you’re a longtime fan or visiting for the first time, this is something worth looking forward to.
