On July 19, Singapore welcomed its first fine-casual Filipino restaurant, Hayop ni Manam. This new dining spot is an offshoot of the acclaimed Manam restaurant based in the Philippines. Located on Amoy Street, Hayop ni Manam specialises in authentic Filipino cuisine, offering a menu that includes traditional dishes such as sisig, kare-kare, lechon, lumpia, and adobo, enhanced by top-quality ingredients like New Zealand wagyu, French spring chicken, and Japanese seafood.
The restaurant also features a unique cocktail menu infused with Filipino flavours. Ingredients typically found in high-end dining, such as Duroc pork from Spain and grass-fed wagyu, are staples here, with all sauces and condiments prepared in-house.
The original Manam, known for its nearly 30 locations across the Philippines, was founded in 2012 by Abba Napa, Eliza Antonino, and Jon Syjuco under The Moment Group. This conglomerate now operates over 60 restaurants across various concepts. Manam’s popularity is evident, with daily queues at many of its locations.
Hayop ni Manam marks The Moment Group’s inaugural international expansion. The founders’ decision to open in Singapore was influenced by the enthusiastic response from a 2019 pop-up in the city, which sold out in less than a day. This overwhelming support, coupled with consistent requests from potential international patrons over the years, convinced the founders to establish a permanent presence in Singapore.
